We’re super proud to introducePACKBAGS × Rein Reitsma, the 2nd in our series of limited collaborations with designers and craftspeople.
Rein works in between the fields of product design and art, where he patiently plays and crafts: by mixing up materials and bending the rules a bit, he reimagines craft and tradition. Yet he often returns to a few basics: weaving, coiling, knotting and making ready-mades.
For this collaboration, Rein created a limited series of three basket modules within the PACKBAGS system: - a small size for your phone and wallet, - a mid-size basket that pairs well with our small drawstring pouches, - and a larger version that fits our medium pouches.
This collaboration is special to us because we share the same mindset: a love for craft, a clear and bold design language, and a playful aesthetic that doesn’t take itself too seriously. We both believe in simple systems, strong materials, and objects that are functional yet able to spark a smile.
Each basket module is carefully handmade in Rein’s Rotterdam studio.
