From 2012 to Now: how PACKBAGS began
PACKBAGS began in 2012, during Alei Verspoor’s graduation project at the Royal College of Art. The idea was simple but not so simple: how can you construct a textile product so you can keep taking it apart, reassemble and repair it easily? like a Vitsoe shelving system, but for bags?
Thirteen years later, that same idea is still the foundation of what we do.

Alei explored modular systems of all kinds; playful and technical, but the breakthrough came from an ancient craft: basket weaving. The weave created a grid to attach straps and buckles and the basket shapes work as a container for modular pouches.

that modular system is still at the core PACKBAGS now:
100 modules - infinite possibilities.
